How to make traditional falafel even more delicious and juicy? Prepare it using vegetables and flour. Zucchini falafel is the perfect dish for those seeking a healthy and nutritious alternative to regular falafel. One significant advantage of this dish is its healthy and quick preparation. It is well known that the classic recipe involves frying with a large amount of oil. However, if you are looking at this recipe, you definitely prefer healthy food. Therefore, in this recipe, you won’t have to fry the balls in a pan. I’m sharing this simple recipe with those interested in vegetarian cuisine.

Steps

1
Done

Optionally, peel the zucchini and grate it finely. Add one tablespoon of salt and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wrap the zucchini in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.

2
Done

To the finally mixture, add finely chopped carrots, green onions, parsley, and other ingredients listed. To taste you can add 2 tbsp starch, 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp cumin (ground).

3
Done

Forming balls from the resulting mixture is not particularly difficult. You can shape the falafel into any form you like. Then, bake the falafel in an air fryer or oven at 200°C for 10-15 minutes.

4
Done

Ready! Amazing zucchini falafel pairs well with yogurt sauce.
